Vietnamese Defense Minister to attend the 8th Beijing Xiangshan Forum
PANO – Minister of National Defense General Ngo Xuan Lich will lead a high-ranking Vietnamese defense delegation to attend the 8th Beijing Xiangshan Forum in Beijing, China, from October 24 to 26 and pay an official visit to China from October 26 to 28, at the invitation of Chinese Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe.
The Vietnamese participation in the forum is to affirm Vietnam’s active role and responsibility for regional and international issues as well as to express the country’s viewpoints on security and development issues of regional and global concern.
As planned, General Lich will deliver an important speech at the first plenary session of the forum, themed “International Security Administration.”
During the official visit to China, the Vietnamese Defense Minister will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart and meet leaders of Chinese Central Military Commission. He will pay courtesy visits to Chinese Party and State leaders.
The visit of the high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation to China aims to cement friendship between the two Parties, States and militaries as well as promote trust and credibility between senior leaders of the two militaries and the implementation of the statement on a joint vision on defense cooperation until 2025 inked by the two defense ministries.
