Vietnamese coast guard ship finishes Japan visit
PANO - Ship CSB 8002 of Coast Guard Region 2 under the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) Command left Yokohama port on December 6 for Vietnam, concluding her visit to Japan for an exchange with the Japan Coast Guard (JCG).
The vessel’s visit to Japan aimed to strengthen solidarity, mutual understanding, and cooperation between the two countries’ coast guard forces in the spirit of their memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation signed in 2015.
During a week-long stay, the Vietnamese coast guards carried out a number of external defense affairs programs such as visiting the JCG’s units, holding a joint search and rescue exercise, and sharing law enforcement experiences.
In the time to come, the two forces will continue to organize experience sharing, delegation exchanges, bilateral conferences, and personnel training courses.
The success of the CSB 8002’s visit to Japan will make contributions to heightening the bilateral friendship for peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation, and the interests of each country.
