Japanese coast guards visit Vietnamese vessel
PANO – A delegation of the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) visited ship CSB 8002 of Coast Guard Region 2 under the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) Command docking at Yokohama port on December 3.
The tour was part of the vessel’s visit to Japan for an exchange with the JCG from December 2 to 6.
Major General Shimatani Kunihiro, Deputy Commander of the JCG’s 3rd Regional Coast Guard, expressed his pleasure at the visit of the CSB 8002 as the first VCG ship to Yokohama port.
The Japanese general learned that ship CSB 8002 was officially launched at a time when the Vietnamese and Japanese coast guard forces signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation in 2015.
He also wished the Vietnamese maritime sector would continue to contribute to safety and freedom of navigation in the region and the world.
On the same day, the mission of ship CSB 8002 also toured PL 10 patrol vessel of the JCG.
