The Vietnamese delegation was led by Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, while the Chinese delegation was headed by Major General Liu Houjie, Deputy Political Commissar of the China Coast Guard.
Receiving the two delegations, Major General Tran Van Tho, Commander of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command, discussed with the delegates the outstanding activities between the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) and the China Coast Guard (CCG) organized by the Coast Guard Region 1 Command since the memorandum of understanding signed in 2016.
Over the past time, under the direction of the higher levels, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command and the CCG’s Nanhai Bureau have regularly shared information, conducted joint patrols in the Gulf of Tonkin, contributing to building a sea of peace, stability, and respect for the law, and deepening the relations between the two forces.

For his part, Major General Liu Houjie expressed his pleasure when visiting the Coast Guard Region 1 Command and emphasized the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
Over the past time, the VCG and CCG have actively implemented the common perceptions of the two countries' senior leaders; carried out a number of substantive cooperation activities, including joint patrols, mutual port calls, young officer exchanges, to name but a few.
Gen. Liu Houjie hoped that Chinese Nanhai Bureau and the Coast Guard Region 1 Command will continue to further uphold obtained achievements.

During the activity, players took turn to answer questions related to the history of the Vietnam - China bilateral relations, the friendship between the two countries’ young people and the cooperative partnership between the Vietnamese and Chinese coast guard forces.
The activity has contributed to broadening the knowledge of the officers and soldiers of Ship 8004 and raising their responsibility in cultivating the traditional friendship between the two parties, states, peoples, militaries, and coast guard forces.
