The two sides well implemented their signed cooperation agreements, actively worked together in managing and protecting the shared borderline, fighting trans-border crimes and effectively dealing with emerging issues to maintain stability, security and order along the borderline.

Particularly, over the first three months of 2019, they held 42 meetings and exchanged 86 letters, well performed the Vietnam-China land border treaty, and collaborated in addressing 41 cases with 267 citizens of both countries who illegally crossed the borderline.

In the coming time, the two border forces planned to continue to roll out an agreement on the three-level cooperation mechanism between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Chinese Public Security; the minutes of the sixth dialogue between the border guard forces of the four Vietnamese provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang and Ha Giang, and the Guangxi armed border police corps; and the program “Joining hands to build Vietnam-China border posts of friendship.”

The two border forces  will further exchange information relating to border security, educate people along the shared borderline to follow the two countries’ laws on border management and immigration, visit and congratulate each other on their major events, hold friendly sports activities and artistic exchanges, and effectively recommend local authorities to expand twinning relations between their border residential areas.
