The patrol formation included Ship 263 from Naval Region 5 of the Vietnam People’s Navy and Ship 1144 from the Naval Base of the Royal Cambodian Navy.

The two sides worked together to carry out a saluting ceremony which is regularly held between ships of ASEAN's navies, exchange information, and conduct hand flag training in line with the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES).

The patrol aimed to maintain security and order at the historical waters of Vietnam and Cambodia and prevent illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The event was also to strengthen cooperation, mutual understanding, trust, and support between the two navies.
