During the event lasting from November 16 to 18, the two sides exchanged information and collaborated to prevent illegal fishing and carry out maritime flag and lamp signal training.

In addition, the naval forces of the two countries also practiced search and rescue scenarios and exercised contents of the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES), which was reached at the Western Pacific Naval Symposium 2014 to reduce the chance of an incident at sea between the countries in the agreement.

The joint patrol aimed to maintain security and order at sea, thus creating favorable conditions for people of the two countries to develop domestic economy. It also contributed to strengthening cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the two navies.

Participating troops of the Naval Region 5 Command took the occasion to conduct information dissemination to raise fishermen’s awareness of regulations to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. The unit also presented 500 national flags, 400 medical face-masks, and 200 bottles of hand sanitizer and distributed 1,000 leaflets with national seas and islands-related information to fishermen.
