Vietnamese “blue beret” doctors bring happiness to children in South Sudan
PANO - On the occasion of the International Day of the African Child on June 16, the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 4 of Vietnam visited and presented gifts to students at Charles Kuot Elementary School, Unity state, in South Sudan.
The gifts included pictures, T-shirts, school supplies, drawing papers, crayons, and slippers, among others. The students also joined Vietnamese folk games and felt excited.
In addition, the Vietnamese doctors planted eagle trees on the school campus, hoping to bring freshness to this arid land. The school’s teacher held that in the following years, when many other people came to this place, they would tell the story of the Vietnamese people who brought the trees here.
