The patrol team of the Border Post of Nam Can International Border Gate was led by its deputy head Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trong Huy, while the Lao team was headed by Major Cugia Lyphung, deputy head of the company.

The patrol offered an opportunity for the two sides to detect and handle violations of border regulations in a timely and effective manner, contributing to protecting security and safety along the shared borderline, maintaining political security, social order and safety in the border areas.   

Despite unfavorable weather conditions and dangerous terrains, the patrol teams carefully checked the status of the system of border markers from 406 to 408 along the Vietnam-Laos borderline. They concluded that the border signs and border markers along the shared borderline remained intact and safe.

The bilateral patrol contributes to consolidating the solidarity and friendship between the two border guard forces in particular and the two countries in general.

At the end of the patrol, the two sides signed the minutes briefing the outcomes of the patrol and border management and protection, issuing guidelines and measures, and agreeing on the time and number of troops joining the next bilateral patrol session.
