Vietnamese and Cambodian navies conduct joint patrol
PANO - Ships 253 of Naval Region 5 of the Vietnam People’s Navy and Ship 1142 of the Royal Cambodian Navy successfully conducted the 54th joint maritime patrol from March 14 to 15 on the Vietnam-Cambodia historic waters.
During the patrol, the two sides teamed up in suppressing pirates; preventing drug trafficking, illegal immigration, and illegal transport of weapons and explosives at sea; conducting search and rescue; and protecting the maritime environment.
Within the framework of the joint patrol, the naval troops of the two countries also practiced signal information, lamplight-signaling, semaphore; and organized exchange activities at sea.
Thanks to careful preparations and close coordination, the 54th annual joint patrol of Vietnam’s and Cambodia’s naval forces ended with success, contributing to protecting a peaceful and stable environment in the two countries’ historic waters, and strengthening friendship, cooperation, mutual trust and understanding between the two countries’ navies forces.
