Vietnamese and Cambodian air forces to foster cooperation
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, hosted a reception for General Soeung Samnang, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Air Force on November 14 at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.
At the reception, General Soeung Samnang expressed sincere thanks to Vietnam for its great and effective support and assistance for Cambodia in the country’s national liberation struggle against the genocidal regime of Pol Pot.
The guest also briefed the host on the outcomes of his previous meeting with Vietnam’s Air Defense-Air Force Service. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed their cooperation activities over the past time and agreed to promote cooperation in delegation exchange, young officer meetings and training.
Highly appreciating the outcomes of the talks, the host affirmed that the achievements in cooperation between the two air forces over the past time have contributed to strengthening solidarity between the two militaries and two peoples. General Giang expressed belief that the two sides will have more effective measures to strengthen their air forces.
He vowed that leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army will support and create favorable conditions for the air forces of the two countries to foster their cooperation in the coming time.
