Earlier, an advance mission of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and four members of the L2FH Rotation 2 arrived in South Sudan to participate in a mission handover ceremony and to make thorough preparations for the L2FH Rotation 2’s takeover of the peacekeeping mission from the L2FH Rotation 1.

The remaining personnel of the L2FH Rotation 2 are expected to be in South Sudan next week.

Speaking with the People’s Army Newspaper’s reporter, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Hien, Director of the L2FH Rotation 2 expressed his honor to undertake missions in an African country with so many difficulties like South Sudan.

The Vietnamese officer highly valued the successful task performance of the L2FH Rotation 1 in UNMISS and affirmed that their success will be a driving force for the L2FH Rotation 2’s personnel to complete their peacekeeping mission in South Sudan. He stressed that during mission, they will bring into full play the tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army in general and of military doctors in particular.

Also on November 20, 31 members of the L2FH Rotation 1 of Vietnam flew home from Juba. The second airlift carrying the remaining personnel of the hospital is scheduled next week.
