Accordingly, the two sides agreed to regularly share information related to border management and protection and maintenance of political security and public order in areas along the shared borderline, as well as to boost coordination in investigating and preventing crimes, especially organized crime, transnational terrorist crimes and drug trafficking.

Border units of the two sides will also coordinate to control illegal immigration and illegal logging and timber import and export, and to help people living along the shared borderline to cope with emergency situations and natural disasters.

The signing of the agreement is an important landmark of the relations between Vietnam’s and Cambodia’s law enforcement forces, contributing to consolidating solidarity and friendship between the two militaries in general and the two border protection forces in particular.
