The meeting was under the chair of Colonel General I. A. Buvaltsev, Chief of the Main Combat Training Directorate under the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the host of the Army Games.

In Hanoi, Major General Tran Van Ba, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Training under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army led the Vietnamese delegation to the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates spoke highly of the host country’s efforts in continuing to run the International Army Games in 2022, affirming that the Army Games is an important international military sports event, contributing to strengthening international cooperation and consolidating mutual trust among the armed forces of participating countries.

Addressing the event, Major General Tran Van Ba informed that in the upcoming Army Games 2022, the Vietnamese delegation will participate in 15 contests, send observers in five others, and propose to continue hosting two contests, namely “Emergency Area” and “Sniper Frontier.”

In particular, the 15 events are “Sea Cup,” “Masters of Artillery Fire,” “Tank Biathlon,” “Safe Route,” “Safe Environment,” “Confidential Reception,” “Sniper Frontier,” “Tactical Shooter,” “Emergency Area,” “Meridian,” “Army of Culture,” “Field Kitchen,” “Military Medical Relay Race,” “Gunsmith Master,” “Special Breakthrough.”

At the International Army Games 2021, the Vietnam People’s Army sent its contingents to compete in 15 out of 34 contests of the games and hosted two contests for the first time. As a result, the Vietnamese delegation ranked seventh out of 42 participating countries and territories, and won 51 collective and individual prizes.
