The activities were to mark the 79th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2023). On this occasion, Force Commander of UNMISS Lieutenant General Mohan Subramanian visited officers and soldiers of the Vietnamese field hospital. Listening to the tradition of the Vietnamese military, he expressed his impression of the history and heroic tradition of the VPA.

The officer highly appreciated the effective operation of the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 5 and acknowledged the contribution of the hospital in particular and the Vietnam People’s Army in general to the U.N. peacekeeping force at UNMISS.

Lieutenant General Mohan Subramanian worked in Vietnam for four years and had unforgettable memories of the S-shaped country. At the event, he impressed others with his profound knowledge about Tan Trao banyan tree and Dien Bien Phu Victory which is closely associated with legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap.

On this occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ha Ngoc, Director of the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 5, presented two books about President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnam People’s Army to Lieutenant General Subramanian.
