The meeting was co-chaired by Head of Vietnam’s Defense Trade Union Board Senior Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc and Head of the delegation of trade union officials of the Lao People’s Army Lieutenant Colonel Nudam.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc stated that this is an opportunity for trade union officials of the two countries to exchange experience in organizing trade union organizations and conducting activities.

The Defense Trade Union Board is tasked with studying and helping leaders of the General Department of Political Affairs give recommendation to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to issue guidelines and measures to conduct activities for trade union members in the Vietnam People's Army and build strong organizations.

At the meeting, the Defense Trade Union Board’s leader briefed the visiting delegation on its organization, staffing, functions, and missions. He stated that over the past years, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Political Affairs, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have paid attention to workers' movements and trade union activities.

The trade union organizations in the Vietnam People's Army have well maintained activities to take care of its members and defense workers, contributing to their agencies, units, and enterprises’ fulfillment of political missions. For its obtained results, the Defense Trade Union Board has been honored with various emulation flags and certificates of merit by the General Department of Political Affairs and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

On behalf of the visiting delegation, Lieutenant Colonel Nudam sincerely thanked the Defense Trade Union Board for the warm welcome. He briefed the Defense Trade Union Board on organization and tasks of the Trade Union of the Lao People's Army as well as its outstanding activities recently.
