Vietnam, Japan foster defense ties
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, hosted a reception for a Japanese defense delegation led by Rear Admiral Yoshihito Goka at the defense ministry’s headquarters on December 3.
The delegation includes officials from the Japanese Defense Ministry, and officers of the Japan Self-Defense Forces and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.

At the reception, General Giang stressed that the Vietnam-Japan defense ties witnessed a remarkable development over the past time, particularly in delegation exchange at all levels, training cooperation, and experience exchange on UN peacekeeping operations.
Also, the host expressed his thank to the Japan’s Sasakawa Peace Foundation for supporting and organizing exchange programs to strengthen friendship, cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the two militaries and the two peoples.
In addition, he hoped that the Vietnam-Japan defense cooperation will continue developing steadily for the sake of the two peoples and for peace, cooperation, and prosperity in the region and the world as well.
