Vietnam holds course on military strategy studies for Cambodian officers
PANO - The Defense Strategy Institute of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry opened a refresher course on military strategy studies for Cambodian officers at Unit 871 of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army on August 21.
The course, the eighth of its kind, aims to improve the quality of military strategy studies for officers from the Center of Military Strategy Studies of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
During the one-month-long course, the trainees will learn theories, go on field trips to Vietnamese military units, and practice crafting military strategies.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Than, Deputy Head of the Defense Strategy Institute, emphasized that embracing and implementing the foreign policy of the Vietnamese Party and State, the institute always considers training cooperation with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces in general and the Center of Military Strategy Studies in particular as one of its important political missions.
He hoped that the trainees will overcome difficulties and do their utmost to meet the targets of the training course while promoting exchange of experiences and issues of mutual concern with their instructors, contributing to improving mutual understanding and trust between the two militaries and the two peoples as well as between the Defense Strategy Institute of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry and the Center of Military Strategy Studies of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces in particular.
For his part, Lieutenant General Gov Hieng Meng, head of the Cambodian officers’ delegation, showed his determination and promised to try his best to reach the targets of the course.
