After visiting the sites, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister had a meeting with the people and armed forces of Loc Tan and Loc Thanh communes of Loc Ninh district. During the meeting, General Tea Banh affirmed that the Vietnamese people and armed forces helped Cambodia when the country was in dire need for support. It is a complete distortion when saying that Vietnam invaded Cambodia. The volunteer soldiers of Vietnam did complete the international service in Cambodia. Extending thanks to the Party, armed forces and people of Vietnam, the Cambodian general hoped that younger generations of both countries would learn more from history and foster the fine friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia. On answering the questions of the press, he reiterated that the sincere support and assistance from the Vietnamese people and armed forces helped rescue and revitalize the country from the genocidal regime. The people of Cambodia would never forget Vietnam’s sincere assistance.

At the event, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Phuoc province Nguyen Van Tram held that the visit of General Tea Banh and his entourage is vivid evidence of the solidarity and close friendship between the two countries and armed forces, further manifesting the sincere support and assistance full of affection of Vietnam for Cambodia. It serves as a strong argument against hostile forces’ allegation distorting the just war of the Vietnamese people and armed forces to protect its Southwestern border and the joint efforts to overthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime of Vietnam and Cambodia as well as Vietnam’s support and assistance to revitalize Cambodia from the ruins, while strengthening solidarity, cooperation and friendship of the two countries.
* Over the past time, Binh Phuoc province and the three Cambodian provinces of Kratie, Tbong Khmum and Mondulkiri have implemented various exchange activities, contributing to lifting the bilateral relations to a new height and fostering mutual understanding and trust, and the building of a borderline of peace, stability and development.
