Lt. Gen. Thang stressed that despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two sides have maintained high-level contacts via virtual formats while working closely and effectively in other spheres like training, UN peacekeeping operations, and military medicine.
He appreciated the French Ministry of Armed Forces’ assistance to Vietnam in personnel training, knowledge exchange, and experience sharing. Particularly, France has sent its experienced experts to provide specialized advice for the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations under a cooperation agreement between Vietnam and the EU, he added.
In the time ahead, the two sides will continue to maintain high-level exchanges in suitable forms, in person or via teleconference; organize activities to mark the 30th founding anniversary of bilateral defense relations; and enhance ties in hydrography, peacekeeping operations, military medicine, and training.
