Defense leader meets with officers to be trained in France

PANO - The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army held a ceremony on September 27 at Unit 871 to assign missions to 22 high-ranking Vietnamese officers, who will join a course on national and regional security-defense strategies at the training center of the French Ministry of the Interior.

Addressing the event, Major General Le Duc Manh, Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel, stressed that the sending of Vietnamese officers to study abroad is a strategic and significant policy of the Ministry of National Defense in order to provide highly qualified human resources for the military and the country.

General Manh asked the officers to uphold a firm political and ideological stance, overcome hardships, actively study to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge, strictly observe the regulations of external defense relations, laws of Vietnam and the host countries as well as to promote solidarity and friendship with French people and foreign friends.

On behalf of the Vietnamese high-ranking military personnel, Major General Tran Duy Hung, Political Commissar of the General Department of Techniques, promised to actively study to gain knowledge of the security-defense policies of the host country, contributing to successful results in the future with their assigned tasks after finishing the course.
