Vietnam, China to promote cooperation in Party and political work
PANO – The Party, State, and people of Vietnam always treasure and are grateful for the significant support of the Chinese Party, Government, and people during the resistance war for national salvation and national construction cause.
Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army General Luong Cuong said that during a phone talk with Director of the Political Work Department of the Chinese Central Military Commission Senior Lieutenant General Miao Hua on November 6 in Hanoi.
General Cuong also emphasized that Vietnam consistently pursues a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, and development while diversifying and multilateralizing its international relations for national development.
During the talk, the two sides affirmed that friendship and cooperation have been a consistent part of Vietnam-China relations over the past seven decades and in line with the best interests of the people of the two countries. They emphasized that despite the impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, cooperation between the two countries in general and two militaries in particular have been maintained and fruitfully developed.
The Vietnamese Chief of the General Department and his counterpart agreed that as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic is controlled, the two sides will continue implementing the reached cooperation agreements, including Party and political work. As for all remaining issues, Vietnam and China should keep on realizing common perceptions agreed by senior leaders of the two Parties and two States and not create an opportunity for hostile forces to sabotage and destroy the relationship of the two countries.
Regarding cooperation activities in the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue fostering cooperation in Party and political work with a focus on education of the Vietnam-China traditional friendship for their troops. They will also promote experience sharing in building a politically strong army while cooperating in fighting against the “peaceful evolution” strategy and the plot of “depoliticizing” the military by hostile forces. They will also strive to ensure the absolute and direct leadership of the Party over the military.
The two generals affirmed that in any circumstances, defense cooperation will always be an important pillar in the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
On the occasion, General Cuong briefed Senior Lieutenant General Miao Hua on the outcomes of the 11th Congresses of the Military Party Organization and other Party organizations under the Party Central Committee for the 2020-2025 period. Cuong said that the Vietnam People’s Army has been the core and vanguard force in containing the COVID-19 pandemic and overcoming natural disaster consequences over the past time, contributing to ensuring political security and public order for economic development and strengthening people’s trust in the Party, State, and Army.
