Vietnamese Navy’s frigate departs for AMNEX 3
PANO - Frigate 016-Quang Trung of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 and a working delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy departed from Cam Ranh Military Port in Khanh Hoa province on August 10 to take part in the 3rd ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise (AMNEX 3) in Penang, Malaysia.
The Vietnamese delegation is headed by Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4 Senior Captain Nguyen Vinh Nam. This journey aims to actualize the directives of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on international integration and defense diplomacy.

Through the exercise, the Vietnam People’s Navy wishes to further enhance coordination capabilities in responding to common maritime security challenges, and to strengthen relations, cooperation, mutual understanding, and trust among participating navies for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

During the AMNEX 3, Frigate 016-Quang Trung and the working delegation will participate in the opening and closing ceremonies, a street parade, a Naval Technical Meeting, ship tours and receptions, the ASEAN Fleet Review, formation maneuvers and replenishment at sea; response to maritime security threats from high-speed boats, aerial formation photography, and saluting ceremony at sea.
Vietnam’s participation in AMNEX 3 demonstrates its responsibility as a member of the ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting and its support for multilateral international activities hosted by Malaysia.

In addition, the journey offers an opportunity for the Vietnamese naval troops to improve their command and coordination, combat readiness capabilities, and proficiency in operating weapons and equipment during extended deployments at sea; to accumulate experience in participating in and organizing international events; and to conduct reconnaissance and grasp the situation at sea.
