The Vietnamese deputy defense minister congratulated the outgoing Chinese Defense Attaché and hailed his contribution to the Vietnam - China defense relations in particular and the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in general, affirming that in his position, Senior Colonel Pan Tao has closely worked with Vietnam’s functional units to accelerate cooperation contents between the two militaries.

Especially, amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese and Chinese Ministries of National Defense promptly supported each other, both in vaccines and medical facilities, in pandemic prevention and control, which saw Pan Tao’s contribution. Furthermore, as a Chinese defense attaché to Vietnam, Senior Colonel Pan Tao also made contribution to the implementation of delegation exchange as well as the organization of online conferences and seminars between the two defense ministries.

Gen. Chien affirmed that the Vietnamese Defense Ministry is always willing to boost cooperation with China, hoping to enhance bilateral defense cooperation on the basis of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, especially the joint statement on further deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, which was issued during Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to China last year.

For his part, Senior Colonel Pan Tao thanked the Vietnamese side for creating favorable conditions for him during his working term in the country, thereby benefiting the Vietnam - China defense cooperation. Noting that there remains an ample room for bilateral cooperation, Senior Colonel Pan Tao committed himself to continuing to promote the Vietnam - China relations in general and bilateral defense cooperation in particular.
