Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang expressed his belief that the visit of Gen. Shao Yuanming and Chinese delegation will contribute to the overall success of the great Vietnamese anniversaries. The two generals stressed that Vietnam and China have enjoyed a long-lasting relationship and this is a chance to look back on the historical journey and to review the two militaries' support to each other during the struggle for national independence and reunification of each country in the past.

Gen. Giang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing stable and long-term relations with China. The development of Vietnam-China relations has a strategic significance for the sustainable development of each country, as well as for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.

The same day, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister also received Lieutenant General Shao Yuanming at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.

The two generals were pleased at the positive results of the Vietnam-China bilateral defense cooperation in 2019, which has been one of the important pillars in the relationship between the two Parties, and States. The contents of the cooperation have been seriously implemented in many fields.

Gen. Vinh expressed his belief that with the great efforts of the two sides, the Vietnam-China bilateral defense cooperation in 2020 and subsequent years will further develop in a practical manner, thus contributing to the mutual development of the Vietnam-China bilateral relations, and for peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.
