The sixth Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange will take place in January 2020 with the participation of both countries’ senior leaders and officers as well as the local authorities in the border area. It is considered an important political event, which is expected to contribute to accelerating people-to-people exchanges and twinning activities among localities along the shared border.
The event will include various activities, such as reviewing the guards-of-honor, saluting border landmarks, planting “trees of friendship,” carrying out joint border patrols, practicing counter-terrorism exercises, and more.
Speaking at the working session, General Chien highly valued efforts of the local leadership and sectors in preparation for the exchange program. He asked relevant agencies of the defense ministry to closely collaborate with the local authorities to fulfill all preparations and ensure safety for the upcoming event.
