The activity contributed to maintaining social order and promoting the fight against crime in their border areas on the occasion of their upcoming traditional Lunar New Year or Tet holiday.

This time, Vietnam assigned six liaison officers to the Chinese side, while four Chinese troops joined the Vietnamese side, to patrol the areas on the two sides of the borderline from Landmarks No.87 to No.156, along the Red River and Nam Thi River by trucks, motorcycles, speedboats and on foot.
The two sides sent 34 patrol teams to deliver nearly 3,000 leaflets and carried out law education and information activities for local residents with the aim of urging them to observe the regulations of the Border Defence Cooperation Agreement signed by the two governments.
During the patrol program, they worked together to deal with the illegal acts on each side.
The two units have signed the bilateral patrol’s report and mapped out preparations for the next joint activity.
