Vietnam, Cambodia further expand defense cooperation
PANO – The Royal Gendarmerie High Command of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces has hosted a cooperative meeting with the Military Region 7 Command of the Vietnam People’s Army in Phnom Penh.
The conference was co-chaired by General-of-the-Army Sao Sokha, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia, and Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Commander of Military Region 7.
Delivering his speech, General Sokha highly appreciated the working visit to Cambodia this time by the Military Region 7 mission, led by General Luong, to strengthen the solidarity and relationship between the two armies in particular and the two countries in general.

For his part, General Luong emphasized defense ties between units of the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia and Military Region 7 over the past time, adding that both sides should continuously uphold the relationship in the time to come.
During the event, both sides discussed and detailed joint measures in order to maintain social order and security on the shared border, combat crimes, boost twinning activities among their units and localities, share experience and information of mutual concern, and hold cultural and sport exchanges.
These agreed programs are expected to contribute to building the shared border of peace, friendship, and sustainable development for the sake of their peoples and armies as well.
Finally, they signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral defense cooperation.
