Vietnamese, Cambodian navies review joint patrols
PANO - The Region 5 Command of the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy’s Ream Naval Base on December 4 held the 24th conference to review their joint patrols.

Rear-Admiral Pham Manh Hung, Commander of the Vietnam's Naval Region 5, and Commander of the Cambodian Ream Naval Base Ouk SeyHa co-chaired the meeting.
At the conference, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of the 47th and 48th joint patrols, exchanged security and order situations in the historical waters (the waters is under consideration by both nations) and in the shared waters.
They also looked into the possible future twinning activities between the Naval Region 5 Command and the Royal Cambodian Navy’s Ream Naval Base.
They approved and signed in the plans of the 49th and 50th joint patrols and the 25th conference.
During the 47th and 48th joint patrols, the participating ships observed the operation of 234 ships of different kinds of fishermen of the two countries in the historical waters.
The joint forces successfully conducted combined content exercises, including maneuver in the formation of a detachment, search and rescue, communication via UFH and VHF channels, signal flags, and lamplight.
The joint exercises helped improve professionalism and skills of officers and crew-members and boost mutual understanding and trust among the participants, contributing to maintaining security and order at sea.
