The event aims to commemorate
Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists, as well as patriotic Cambodians who
sacrificed their lives for the cause of Cambodia’s
liberation and helped Cambodian people escape from the genocidal Khmer Rouge
regime, contributing to Cambodia’s
revival and development.
It’s also meant to celebrate the 73rd
founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944), the 28th
anniversary of Vietnam Whole People’s Defense Festive Day (December 22, 1989) and the
50th anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967).
In recent days, many Vietnamese and
Cambodian delegations visited the Vietnamese Defense Attaché Office in Cambodia to offer congratulation on the
anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and Vietnam’s Whole People’s Defense Day.
As scheduled, the attaché office
will hold a banquet to mark the occasions on December 22.
