The event was attended by Second-in-command and Chief of Staff of the Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command Colonel Nguyen Van Dien, and Second-in-command of Guangxi Exit-entry Frontier Inspection General Station Chenqiang.

Addressing the event, Colonel Nguyen Van Dien affirmed that over the past year, under the leadership of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry and the Chinese Public Security Ministry, the Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command and the Guangxi Exit-entry Frontier Inspection General Station have closely worked together to strictly maintain three legal documents on border, cooperation agreement on establishing a three-level law enforcement coordination mechanism in controlling border gates and the borderline, the minutes of seminars on strengthening cooperation in border law enforcement between Vietnam and China, to name but a few.

Colonel Nguyen Van Dien noted that since it was signed in January 2014, the program “Joining hands to build friendship border units and peaceful border gates” has helped boost cooperation between the two sides in managing exit-entry activities, fighting crimes, and ensuring social order and security in border areas and at border gates.

Both sides have well implemented all signed contents, actively made recommendations to local authorities to boost exchange activities and cooperation in the fields of socio-economy and culture, thereby contributing to maintaining security in border areas and at border gates, and building the shared borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

During the event, representatives of the Border Post of Ta Lung International Border Gate and Shuikou Exit-entry Frontier Inspection Station signed a memorandum of understanding on boosting exchange and cooperation in “Joining hands to build posts and stations of friendship, and peaceful border gates.”

Accordingly, both sides agreed to continue to strengthen the mechanism of talks, coordinate in implementing joint patrols, disseminate law information about immigration, and share experience in healthcare, among others.

* Earlier, on the same day, a delegation of the Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command visited a memorial house dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh in Longzhou district, Guangxi province, China.
