Led by Senior Colonel Luong Cao Khai, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 1, the mission focuses on waters adjacent to the Gulf of Tonkin demarcation line.

The delegation includes representatives from VCG functional agencies, northern coastal Border Guard Commands, local Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Fisheries Surveillance Sub-department Region 1, Customs Sub-department Region 3, and various journalists.

Scheduled from April 20 to 25, the patrol covers 13 points over 255.5 nautical miles, spanning from 52 nautical miles northeast of Con Co Island to 14 nautical miles southeast of Tran Island. Major General Tran Van Tho, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1, assigned tasks to the participating forces, while Lieutenant Colonel Ngo The Trung, Second-in-Command Officer and Chief of Staff of Squadron 11, reported on the mission's preparations.

During the mission, the two forces will hold direct talks to align operational plans and exchange legal expertise. The VCG will deploy an inter-agency team to inspect fishing vessels, disseminate legal regulations to fishermen, and release fish fry to regenerate marine resources. Additionally, the VCG will hold a memorial ceremony for fallen soldiers and fishermen in the Gulf of Tonkin.

This 11th joint patrol between the VCG and the CCG aims to maintain order and security in the region while strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding between the two nations' coast guard forces and their people.
