USINDOPACOM Commander visits Ho Chi Minh City
PANO - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan hosted a reception for Admiral Philip Davidson, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), on April 17 on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam.
Welcoming Admiral Philip Davidson to Ho Chi Minh City, Nhan affirmed that the commander’s first visit will contribute to strengthening the Vietnam-US cooperation which has been developing positively in recent years, especially in high-level delegation exchanges and cooperation activities in many fields, including cooperation between defense ministries of the two countries.

Also, the host highly appreciated friendship exchanges between the naval forces of the two countries and thanked the US for joining the Vietnamese people in treating dioxin-contaminated soil and sharing its experience in participating in UN peacekeeping operations,
Nhan said that Ho Chi Minh City hopes to foster cooperation activities with the US, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership for benefits of the two countries, and for peace, stability and development in the region, and the world as a whole.
At the reception, Admiral Davidson thanked the host for the reception. Highlighting the fine relationship between the two countries over the past time, the guest expressed hope that the two countries will expand their relations in different fields, including training personnel to join UN peacekeeping operations, naval friendship exchanges, humanitarian relief, and natural disaster prevention.
