During the visit, the Vietnamese side underlined that the coordination between Thua Thien Hue and Laos’ Sekong and Salavan provinces as well as their border guard forces has made great contribution to border management and protection, maintaining stability and security in border areas, and building a shared borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and sustainable development.

For the Lao part, a representative of Laos’ armed forces thanked the steering committee of Thua Thien Hue for its care and support over the past time, especially in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and overcoming natural disasters’ consequences.

Also he added that in the coming time, Sekong and Salavan provinces’ border guard units would promote cooperation with border stations of Thua Thien Hue province to firmly protect the shared borderline, contributing to building the borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

On the occasion, the delegation presented medical supplies and necessities to the Lao units.

Additionally, the Thua Thien Hue provincial Border Guard Command and its border stations inquired after and granted gifts to the armed forces and local people in the villages of Sekong and Salavan in Laos.
