Thua Thien - Hue border troops support Lao partners and people
PANO – A delegation of the Thua Thien - Hue provincial Border Guard Command, in association with A Luoi District Authorities, held a ceremony at A Dot Border Gate on April 11 to present necessities to troops of the Lao People’s Armed Forces and Lao people living along the shared borderline between Vietnam and Laos.
The gifts included 2.5 tons of rice, 500 medical face masks, 220 hand sanitizers and other necessities such as instant noodles, cooking oil, and salt. The gifts cost nearly VND 30 million in total.
The gifts were given to support Lao people and troops in the two border provinces of Sekong and Salavan in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
After receiving the gifts, Major Sengvixay Phetsaikham, Commander of Border Guard Company No.531 of the Sekong provincial Military Command, expressed his thanks for the care of the Vietnamese border guard unit and promised to effectively use the supplies in COVID-19 prevention and control.
He also hoped that the two sides will continue exchanging information and support each other to promptly deal with any unexpected developments of the disease.
