At Cau Treo International Border Gate in Ha Tinh province, a mission from the General Department of Logistics, led by its deputy director Major General Nguyen Hung Thang, gave the Lao Defense Ministry 100,000 made-in-Vietnam antibacterial face masks, 30,000 medical face masks, 2,000 pieces of protective clothing, 5,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, 10 Semco disinfectant sprayers, 50kg of chlorine, 10 collections of books on COVID-19 prevention and control, and more with a total value of nearly VND 3 billion.
Apart from the medical equipment, the Vietnamese military also sent leading experts to Laos to give recommendations on pandemic prevention and control, to assist the Lao military in making plans, administering tests for COVID-19, and treating infected cases.
The Vietnam Ministry of National Defense also directed its military regions bordering Laos to support Lao military units and localities. The Vietnamese Ministry also tasked Central Military Hospital 108 to share experience on treatment for COVID-19 patients with Hospital 103 under the Lao People’s Armed Forces on request.
Acknowledging the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense’s great empathy, Major General Volasan Viladavoong, Deputy Head of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People’s Armed Forces, highly appreciated and thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government, and military for their great support and care for the Lao People’s Armed Forces.
The Lao officer said that the Vietnamese Defense Ministry’s support will partly contribute to consolidating the solidarity and special friendship between the two Parties and States in general and the two militaries in particular.

The same day, the Command of Military Region 7 under the Vietnam Ministry of National Defense presented 50,000 antibacterial face masks, 1,000 liters of antibacterial liquid, 1,000 pieces of protective clothing, 200kg of chloramine B to Military Regions 1, 2, 4, and Intervention Division 2 of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
Addressing the handover ceremony at Xa Mat International Border Gate in Tan Bien district, Vietnamese province of Tay Ninh, Major General Niso Vatthana, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Cambodian Military Region 1 highlighted the great support of Vietnamese Military Region 7 amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that though Military Region 7’s troops have been exerting all-out efforts to prevent the pandemic, they still give medical supplies to Cambodian counterparts in a timely manner.
The Cambodian officer emphasized that Cambodian units will closely work with the Vietnamese military region to contain the pandemic and further their cooperation in other fields to promote solidarity and friendship between the two militaries in particular and the two countries in general.
On the occasion, Military Region 7 also gave 30,000 medical facevmasks to Vietnamese people in Cambodia to fight the COVID-19.
