During the working session, Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien laid stress on Vietnam-Laos great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, affirming that senior leaders of the two countries always attach importance to preserving, consolidating Vietnam-Laos relationship and hope that the special relations would continue to be nurtured in the time to come.

Gen. Chien stated that over the past time, Vietnam-Laos comprehensive cooperation has seen fruitful outcomes. Especially, the two countries closely coordinated with each other to successfully organize the “Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Year of Solidarity and Friendship 2022” with a large number of meaningful activities.

For his part, Lt. Gen. Bouvan Vongsavanethong informed Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien about the results of the previous talks with the Vietnam Border Guard Command. In particular, the two sides evaluated their coordination over the past time and agreed on the cooperation orientations in the coming time.

Lt. Gen. Bouvan Vongsavanethong also emphasized that the talks’ result reaffirmed solidarity and mutual support between the two countries.

Speaking highly of the cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard Command and Laos’ Department of Security, Sr. Lt. Gen. Chien required both sides to continue coordinating in information exchange; fight against different kinds of cross-border crimes and free migration activities; and dissemination of information about law observance among local people in border areas. Meanwhile, exchange and twinning activities between the two countries’ military units and local people in border areas should be promoted.

Gen. Chien affirmed that the Vietnam Ministry of National Defense always supports and creates favorable conditions for agencies to enhance cooperation and deepen the relationship between the two countries.
