Seventh Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange begins

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang.

The welcoming ceremony was chaired by Chinese Minister of National Defense and State Councilor Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe. After the ceremony, the two defense ministers observed the ceremonies of  saluting the border marker, painting the border marker, and planting trees at Shuikou Border Gate.

The seventh Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, with activities taking place in Vietnam's Cao Bang province and China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on April 23, is co-chaired by the two defense ministers.

The first Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange was held in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province and China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in March 2014.

The event is significantly meaningful to accelerating friendship and cooperation between the two militaries, the two border guard forces, and the localities and people in the shared border area.
