The event saw the attendance of Senior Colonel Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Deputy Political Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command; Mr. Tran Ngoc Phan, Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Duc Co district, Vietnam’s Gia Lai province; Mr. Hlin Toan, Deputy Chairman of O'Yadao district, Cambodia’s Ratanakiri province. Also present at the event were representatives from various units of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command, and local leaders from Ia Dom commune, Duc Co district.

During the event, 100 scholarships (worth VND 200 million) were granted to 100 disadvantaged students (50 Vietnamese and 50 Cambodian students) with excellent academic results in border areas of Gia Lai province (Vietnam) and Ratanakiri province (Cambodia). Additionally, 20 breeding cows were given to needy households (10 Vietnamese and 10 Cambodian households) in border areas of Duc Co district, Gia Lai province, and Po Nhay commune, O'Yadao district, Ratanakiri province. 

The program is part of the activities in the first Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program, aiming to encourage and support disadvantaged students in their study and help needy families enhance their economic conditions. Moreover, it fosters solidarity between people on both sides of the Vietnam-Cambodia border, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developed border.

As part of this program, from November 3 to 4, Military Hospital 211 under Army Corps 3, in collaboration with the Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command’s medical team and central and local hospitals, organized activities to provide free medical examinations, treatment, and medicines to over 1,000 people in Po Nhay commune, O'Yadao district, Ratanakiri province, Cambodia, and over 700 people in Ia Dom commune, Duc Co district, Gia Lai province, Vietnam.

The medical team gave medical examinations, health counseling, and screening tests to local people. Patients with common ailments were prescribed medications and provided treatment guidance. For severe and chronic cases, prescriptions were given, and patients were advised to visit higher-level hospitals for timely treatment.

On November 5 and 6, health check-ups, scholarship granting, and distribution of breeding cows will be promoted in the border areas of Vietnam's Kon Tum province and Laos' Attapeu province.
