During the event, the two sides deployed their forces for a search and rescue mission, received and provided emergency care for victims at a level-two field hospital, and took measures to prevent and control cholera in earthquake-stricken areas.

After the rehearsal, representatives of Vietnamese and Chinese delegations met to draw experience in the organization of the event, so as to ensure the success of the official event on December 10.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics Major General Nguyen Hung Thang highly appreciated the responsibility, determination, and efforts of both Vietnamese and Chinese military medical forces in preparing for the exercise.

The joint exercise aims to promote intensive and practical cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese militaries as well as raise the command capabilities and coordination among military medical forces of the two countries in humanitarian assistance, medical relief, and disease prevention and control.
