Refresher course on logistics and technical work held for Lao officers
PANO – On October 20, the Dien Bien Provincial Military Command opened a refresher course and experience exchange program on logistics and technical support for the provincial military commands of Laos’ Luang Prabang and Phongsaly in 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People’s Committee; representatives from the Logistics and Technical Department of Military Region 2; and delegates from the provinces of Luang Prabang and Phongsaly.
During the 12-day course (from October 20 to November 1), 40 trainees, who are logistics officers and staff from the two Lao provincial military commands, will receive training in a range of topics, including common malfunctions of weapons and technical equipment and methods for repair; safety in management and use of military equipment; general fire prevention and firefighting knowledge; guidance on standardizing vehicle, machinery, and armored unit operations; techniques for setting up tents and hammocks; construction and use of Hoang Cam type 1 field stoves; food hygiene and safety assurance; and prevention of heatstroke and sunstroke.
The trainees will also visit historical and cultural sites in Dien Bien Province, and observe agricultural and livestock production models, as well as regularity building at Regiment 82 of Division 355 under Military Region 2 and Depot K79 of the Logistics and Technical Department of Military Region 2.
In his opening remarks, Senior Colonel Trinh Duc Thiem, Commanding Officer of the Dien Bien Provincial Military Command, emphasized that specialized agencies should focus on thorough preparation and close coordination with the Dien Bien Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to ensure effective field visits. He also urged participants to uphold responsibility, creativity, and strict discipline throughout the training program.

Upon completion of the course, the trainees are expected to apply the acquired knowledge to their work in logistics and technical support, adapting it to their unit’s specific conditions to ensure high quality and effectiveness.
