Implementing the cooperation plan between the two defense ministries of Vietnam and Laos and the GDP’s direction, the Military Women Advisory Board kicked off a refresher course for women of the Lao People’s Army on November 6 in Hanoi. After a month, the course concluded successfully, completing all targeted contents and programs.

During the course at Unit 871, 20 female officers of the Lao People’s Army were equipped with 12 topics on women's work and women’s movements in the military, and had an opportunity to exchange and share experience to find out similarities and differences in women’s work between the two militaries, thereby, drawing lessons and creatively applying in reality.

Apart from class time, the Lao trainees offered incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, visited outstanding models of Vietnamese military women, and toured historical and cultural relic sites and famous landscapes.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Senior Colonel Phung Thi Phu, Head of the Military Women Advisory Board, affirmed that the course aimed to deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the Vietnamese and Lao military female officers; and broaden their knowledge and enhance their skills. The course also offered an opportunity for the two sides to exchange experience in carrying out the work.

The success of the course showed the responsibility, solidarity and mutual understanding of the two countries’ military female officers, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and close ties between the two militaries and peoples.
