The head delegates highly appreciated Vietnam in holding PAMS-42 and believed that the seminar would be successful.

At the reception for Major General Moo-Bong Ryoo, Deputy Chief of the Army of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong warmly welcomed the RoK delegates to Vietnam to participate in PAMS-42.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong held that together with multifaceted relations of the two countries, the Vietnam-RoK defense relations and cooperation have been cemented and expanded in all areas, including exchange of delegations at all levels, maritime security cooperation, search for troops missing in actions, UXO consequence relief, and sharing of experience in the participation in UN peacekeeping operations.

The Vietnamese official said, “In the coming time, the armies of the two countries should boost cooperation in such fields as exchange of delegations, personnel training, exchange of middle-ranking officers, sharing of counter-terrorism expertise, UN peacekeeping activities and training methods for the reserve force.”

For his part, Major General Moo-Bong Ryoo highly appreciated Vietnam for holding PAMS-42 and believed that the seminar would be successful. He expressed his joy over the development in the bilateral relations and hoped that the relations would further develop. The RoK head delegate agreed with the cooperation proposal of the Vietnamese side and would report the proposal to the higher-level leaders back home.

At the meeting with the head delegate of the Mongolian mission, Brigadier General Amgalanbaatar Bujinov - Chief of the Mongolian Army, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong welcomed the mission to PAMS-42. He believed that the participation of the Mongolian mission at the seminar would contribute to the common success of the event and help tighten the bilateral defense ties.

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral defense cooperation in 2013. “However, due to the difference in the mechanisms of the two countries, defense cooperation has only been conducted in such areas as delegation exchange, meetings on the sidelines of multilateral events, and UN peacekeeper training,” the host stressed.

The host suggested that the two sides should learn more about the demand and potential of each side in training, information and communications, defense industry, military medicine, logistics and participation in UN peacekeeping operations.

On behalf of the Mongolian mission, Brigadier General Amgalanbaatar Bujinov expressed his joy when visiting Vietnam and participating in PAMS-42. He hoped that the two militaries would boost cooperation in the coming time.

He wished Vietnam success in its organization of PAMS-42 and believed that the event gives countries a chance to enhance cooperation for peace and stability in the region. “Sharing of experience at PAM-42 helps enhance understanding in natural disaster prevention and relief,” said the guest.
