The school’s Principal Maria Elena de la Rosa Vidal introduced the Vietnamese guests to the school’s development and teaching and studying attainments of its teachers and students.

While in the school, the PAN delegation toured classrooms and other facilities.

The school was founded by Cuban Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and the Council of State of Cuba in late 1968 after the photo of Vo Thi Thang entitled “Smile of Victory” took spotlight on international media. The debut of this school aimed to express the solidarity of the Party, State, and people of Cuba toward the struggle for national salvation of Vietnamese people and protest the unjust war in Vietnam.
