The PAN’s Editor-in-Chief also noted that for Vietnam, solidarity with Cuba is not only expressed in words but also through many practical activities, including a fundraising program to support the Cuban people under the theme “65 years of Vietnam - Cuba solidarity” hosted by the Vietnam Red Cross Society. As of September 8, contributions exceeded VND 421 billion, surpassing the initial target by over six times. The program will continue until October 16, 2025.

Gen. Bo briefed the host upon the history and development of the People’s Army Newspaper, its functions, duties, and recent achievements. The newspaper has attached importance to covering foreign and defense relations, including the time-honored special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, and their bilateral defense ties.

In a friendly and open atmosphere, both sides agreed that every press agency must devote itself to the revolutionary cause of the nation and to social progress. They also exchanged views on training methods to improve expertise of reporters and editors in the context of the information society and digital transformation of journalism in both countries; as well as journalistic skills in handling misinformation, distortion, and toxic contents, thereby protecting sovereignty in cyberspace.

Gen. Bo confirmed that the PAN is ready to exchange and share experience with Cuban journalists concerning the protection of the ideological foundation of the Party and the combat against wrongful and hostile views in the new situation.

Earlier, the PAN delegation visited and respectfully laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh Memorial in the park named after him in Havana.
