Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation

Lt. Gen. Ly Sorarith, Commanding General of MR1 Command, received the Vietnamese delegation.

Over the past time, the two sides have actively supported and assisted each other. They have coordinated to grasp situational developments, exchange information, organize patrols in border areas, contributing to border security and safety. They have also resolutely fought against and foiled hostile forces’ plots to sabotage political security and separate the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Moreover, the two sides have sent delegations to visit, work, and congratulate each other on big festivals, important political events. Their solidarity, trust, mutual understanding, comprehensive cooperation have been constantly promoted.

Lt. Gen. Thai Dai Ngoc presents MR5 Command’s gift to MR1 Command of the RCAF.

Speaking at the event, Gen. Ngoc expressed thanks to RCAF's MR1, local authorities and people of Rattanakiri, Mundulkiri and Stung Treng provinces for creating favorable conditions for MR5’s Search and Collection Teams K51, K52 and K53 to perform their tasks of searching, collecting, and repatriating remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors fallen during the war in Cambodia.

The MR5 Chief informed the host of emulation activities of the military region to celebrate big events of the Vietnamese military and country, and preparation for all-level party congresses towards the 14th National Party Congress.

He congratulated Cambodian State, military and people on successful celebrations of Cambodia’s Independence Day and Cambodian military’s foundation day.

The Vietnamese general emphasized that the two sides will continue to stand side-by-side to promote the traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, considering it invaluable asset that must be respected and preserved in any circumstances. He wished the relations between the two countries, and between MR5 and MR1 more fruitful development.

The two military regions are hoped to agree on cooperation contents at the 24th meeting slated from early December this year in Da Nang city, Vietnam.
