MNEK-5 kicked off

MNEK-5 aims to strengthen friendship, trust, and coordination among participating navies in addressing disaster management and humanitarian assistance.

The Vietnamese delegation will participate in such contents as an international fleet review, seminars on maritime security, exercises at port, field-training drills at sea, cultural and artistic activities, among others. 

The participation of the Vietnamese delegation in the event continues to affirm the support of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam People's Navy for international and regional events organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and Navy, contributing to strengthening the cooperation between the two navies and the navies of ASEAN nations and countries around the world. This also highlights Vietnam's responsibility as a member of the ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting.

Following the opening ceremony, Indonesia’s Naval Air Force performed an aerial display and parachute jumps to mark the occasion. After that, the international fleet review, the first official activity within MNEK-5, took place with the participation of 40 ships from navies of the host Indonesia and other countries, including Ship 09 of Brigade 191 of the Naval Region 2 Command.
