During the visit, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang and his Lao counterpart General Khamliang Outhakaysone were briefed on the program’s outcomes by representatives of the Military Medical Department under the General Department of Logistics of the Lao People's Army.

They reported that, following the assignment, the military medical departments of both countries promptly coordinated through an online conference to finalize the program, develop implementation plans, and conduct site inspections at Nam On Border Gate in Xaychamphone district, Bolykhamxay province, Laos, and Thanh Thuy Border Gate in Kim Bang commune, Nghe An province, Vietnam.

On July 9, military doctors and nurses from Vietnam and Laos provided free medical examinations, health consultations, and medicines for approximately 700 Lao residents living in the border area.

During their visit to the Sopteng Village Health Station, the two defense ministers also presented 50 breeding cattle to poor households in Xaychamphone district to help improve their livelihoods and reduce poverty. In addition, they donated medical equipment to the health station, reaffirming the two countries' commitment to improving healthcare and living conditions for border communities.
