An overview of the press conference |
The Vietnamese delegation will be led by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang while the Lao delegation will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Laos General Khamliang Outhakaysone.
Built on the success of the first two Vietnam - Laos border defense friendship exchanges held in 2021 and 2024, this year's event carries significant political importance. It aims to further implement the common understanding reached by senior leaders of the two parties and the two countries on strengthening bilateral defense cooperation in an increasingly practical and substantive manner.
The exchange also reaffirms its role as a distinctive and effective model of cooperation for enhancing political trust, fostering friendship and solidarity, and promoting practical collaboration among border forces, local authorities, and people living in border areas of both countries. These efforts contribute to building a Vietnam - Laos border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation, and development.
During the event, representatives of relevant agencies and units provided updates on the activities planned for the third exchange, reviewed the results of border cooperation between the two countries, and outlined preparations for the upcoming program.
