Lao officers join intensive training course in Vietnam
PANO - The Defense Institute for Strategic Studies under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense opened the fourth training course on military strategy studies for officers of the Lao People’s Army at Unit 871 under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army on June 19.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Than, Deputy Director of the Defense Institute for Strategic Studies stressed that bilateral defense cooperation is a major pillar in the Vietnam-Laos relations.
Especially, organizing training courses for Lao officers of the Lao People’s Army is a one of the most important political tasks of the institute, he added.
During the one-month long course, the Lao trainees will study theories and work on some research projects related to strategic issues.
Additionally, they will have field trips to several units of Military Region 3 to contribute to strengthening the solidarity and relationship between the two armies and the two peoples.
